News in Brief (Issue #14)

Forthcoming events and programmes

  • The HKU Teaching and Learning Festival 2021 aims at celebrating the achievements of teaching innovation and development by HKU teachers through various endeavours, including, but not limited to, teaching development grants (TDGs). Starting from early April 9, multiple events have been held, including keynote speeches, workshops, open classroom observations, and poster showcases.
There are still many activities (e.g. several TDG workshops and the closing keynote speech) that are open for registration. Please see an overview of all activities here: https://www.cetl.hku.hk/tdgfest21/
  • Online Symposium on Redesigning Student Learning Experience in Higher Education (RSLEIHE) 2021
Colleagues are welcome to join the Online Symposium on Redesigning Student Learning Experience in Higher Education (RSLEIHE) 2021 this summer, on Saturday, 26 June 2021 (1:30pm-6:00pm). This symposium will be held on Zoom and is co-organised by HERDSA HK and five local institutions (HKU, CUHK, HKBU, HKUST and LU). Online registration is available now (https://herdsahk.edublogs.org/).

The main theme of the symposium is Learning in the Era of “New Normal”: Post-Pandemic Learning. Seventeen short-listed student projects teams (https://herdsahk.edublogs.org/) from 7 local institutions will share what they have learned in their projects, in particular, the implication and recommendations for T&L. It is anticipated that these projects will also demonstrate possible approaches to develop student-staff partnership in higher education.
